Locations / Props

This page is for finalising and discussing shooting locations, recording locations, sets and props required. So that all participants know where to go and at what time and that no one leaves any prop out of Production.

Locations

Horror

Ok, Shooting location is SienYi's old house at Jln SS22/20B, Damansara Jaya. I will tell the actors/actresses and crew members the house number.

We are shooting this Saturday (6 June) 5 to 9 pm. We'll rehearse the shots during the late evening, then have some dinner before shooting the real takes when the lighting is dim enough (The practice prevents us from shooting too long into the night). ONLY actors and crew members that have been told are allowed to be there. If you want to be there as a (useful) crew member, you may comment here.

  • Any doubts? Comments? - SienYi

Tear-Jerker

  • We need a house that has a personal upper-floor room, complete with a table (with lots of books all over), a chair, a window overlooking something (i.e. scenery, neighbourhood) etc. Oh, and the house should be equipped with a cordless telephone system with several handsets that can Intercom, and a computer with speakers nearby one of the handsets! Anyone? - SienYi
  • Uhm, my house has the upper floor room plus table plus chair plus window overlooking a golf course/neighbourhood, [your choice] but no cordless system and no intercom. Computer w/ speakers is downstairs. Sooooo….thinking about it, my house really doesn't suit this. -Alexis

Comedy

  • The location is Nazmin's parents cloth shop "Butik Meena Enterprise" : No. 5, Ground Floor, Plaza City 1, Jln Munshi Abdullah 50100 KL. We are most probably shooting this Saturday morning to afternoon.
  • I just spoke to my mom about the location. Apparently it's a shady place…. - Ji Lian
  • Oh boy… We'll ask Nazmin to turn up more lights I guess… Malayandi made aluminum foil reflectors for us and I guess flashlights plus tracing paper might add more soft light? (It worked for Horror) - SienYi
  • No i don't mean THAT kind of shady XD I mean that the area the shop is in is shady in the sense that there are 'all sorts of people there' (as quoted by my mom). But I'm still going though. 11AM to 2, right? - Ji Lian
  • Yeah, by shady I mean "with drug addicts, a lot of snatch thieves, and illegal foreign workers". I think, if possible, we all go there in a big group and be really really careful with our belongings and all (especially the ones bringing the expensive equipment….cameras, tripods, etc.) Just for safety reasons, that's all.- Ji Lian
  • Hahaha, right. Yes we have to be there in a big group I guess… Yes it's 11am to 2pm. - SienYi
  • Ok, I asked Nazmin about the 'shady-ness' and she said that she, her mum, and her workers will be there fairly well before 11am. And that those 'people' are unlikely to roam around during the morning-afternoon session. - SienYi
  • Awesome! I was worried 'comedy' would turn into 'horror'….lol. Which ending will we be shooting tomorrow? Long, short, or both? If we don't have enough time, which do we shoot first? - Ji Lian

Tear-Jerker

Comedy

1. TOY GUN - preferably more realistic looking - Wen-Xin is bringing his BB gun (unloaded I hope)
2. SUNGLASSES - only Calculator Customer has to bring it
3. CASIO CALCULATOR - I'll bring mine, but you can bring yours if you have.
4. ANOTHER BRAND of CALCULATOR - Give it to Ji Lian to take a photo of it.

  • Ok, Ji Lian, if you're planning to storyboard, the equipment I have is the videocam (duh), tripod, monopod, stereo mic (with fuzz to block ambient sound), gun zoom mic, and wide angle lens. I have makeshift reflectors from Malayandi. - SienYi
  • WHOA. Okay, better get a ton of people to guard the stuff then when we shoot the movie!!!! So i have to take a photo of the calculator? Do i bring my camera then? And as for storyboarding, I'll try to get it done tomorrow during report card day since we're left with hours of *hopefully* free period. How detailed do you want the storyboard to be? - Ji Lian
  • However you wish it to be. I storyboard-ed the Horror movie to plan exactly what shots I want (so that I didn't waste time when shooting) plus, I could keep track of what shots I take. And it saved me some editing time. However, we haven't seen the location yet so you can't really make your storyboard that detailed. Just some shots you 'plan' to have. And we don't need ALL the equipment. If we don't need the monopod then I'm not bringing it. Besides the pods, all the other stuff can fit in a single small bag.- SienYi
